HanumanTemple : Located on a hillock known as Raagi Gudda (Maize Mountain) the Hanuman Temple attracts large numbers of devotees from South Bangalore. It is believed that a big heap of Ragi (a food grain) turned into become a stone, hence the name "Ragigudda". Every year Sri Hanumath jayanti is celebrated grandly for 12 days featuring special abhishekas, homas, poojas and Maha Prasada will be served to the thousands of devotees every day. In addition to being a place of worship, it has now been transformed into a cultural, educational and social service project that offers free medical checkup, free education, book bank, free coaching for students, meditation centres, yoga, music and Veda reading, library and Go shala (cow shed).. A unique feature of Hanuman Jayanthi celebrations is organized here with different themes.
