Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary

Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary

The first wildlife sanctuary in South India is Mudumalai, which is also known as the tiger reserve. Sprawling in the north western side of the Nilgiri Hills, Mudumalai is a house for Asian Elephants, Sloth Bears, Golden Jackals and many more animals you can spot.

The safari arranged by the Forest Department in an open jeep will be the best part of your trip to this sanctuary. Mudumalai is also a home for numerous variety of birds and plants. Moyar and Nilgiri are the rivers crossing through this sanctuary and making this a dense forest area. Though the climate is equally good throughout the year, it is recommended to visit Mudumalai between February and May or during September and October.

Come and get closely connected to the nature amidst the woods.
