A part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, Mukurthi National Park was established to preserve the endangered Nilgiri Tahr species. It is India’s first Biosphere Reserve and has been recognized as UNESCO as World Heritage Site.

Mukurthi National Park is a home for many mammals like Nilgiri Tahr, Bengal Tiger,Indian Elephant, Leopard, Sambar deer. Mukurthi National park is preferred as the best trekking place in South India, with a prior permission from the Forest Department of Tamilnadu maintaining this park.

A day spent in this park, looking at the lush green landscapes, wonderful animals roaming around, interacting with the aboriginal tribal people and trekking with your dearies will give a treasure of memories cherished for life time.
