In the months of March/April & September/October, the rays of the raising sun falls on the three deities in the sanctum, which is considered to be very auspicious. The silver covered idols of the Lion and the Jaya-Vijaya near the entrance of the Sanctum are so magnificent to watch. There is a Lakshmi Yantra installed in front of the Sanctum, symbolizing prosperity.

Chaitra Navaratra and Ashwin Navaratra are the days when Goddess Durga is worshipped in Her three incarnations Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati. Thousands of devotees assemble at the temple to worship the Goddess and take part in the religious rituals during those days.

Diwali is another festival when the entire temple is decorated with lights and every devotee aspiring to worship all the three deities are given special facilities and Laxmipoojan is the major ritual during Diwali.

Annakut is the festival celebrated on the full moon day of Karthika month, that is exactly the fifteenth day from Diwali . 56 or more dishes are offered to Goddess and distributed to the devotees. The quantity will be sufficient to feed 1500 devotees on the day of Annakut.

Margashirsh month is becoming quite famous in the recent years with more number of female devotees visiting the temple. Palkhi of Mataji procession which takes place during June every year is another noteworthy festival celebrated by Mahalakshmi Temple.
