Trekking to the Chokramudi Peak is one of the most famous trekking trails in Munnar. It is the highest peak in Munnar and the trekking trail to this peak is divided  into four parts which include Shola walk, the grass strolls, steep climb and the dangerous terrain.

The picturesque landscape and the beautiful views from this peak leaves you thunderstruck. Shola walk is easy, but trek becomes challenging as you emerge into the grassland, it turns into hardcore climbing. As you cover an altitude of 7200 feet, you can enjoy the misty clouds, lush greenery and cool breeze.

The Chokramudi peak in Munnar also provides the opportunity for camping. Next is the trek to Chummar which is normally an easy trek. Trekking through the tea plantations of Chummar and breathing the pleasant aroma of the tea and enjoying the enchanting views of the grasslands meadows and the Shola forest is a unique experience.

Another most popular trekking trail in Munnar is the Lakshmi Hill Trek. It is a moderate level trek which is followed up by a ridge and is accompanied by grasslands and rocky slopes on your way. The Meesapulimala trek is a bit challenging yet fascinating. During this trek, you will come across various tea and spice plantations that are the backbone of the economy in Munnar and also can see farmers at work.

The Mathikettan Shola Rain Forest Trek is another exciting and challenging trekking trail in Munnar. The trek is through the Cardamom forests of Santhanpara and the major highlight is that you get to walk through a high altitude cloud forest inside which extends across these mountain ranges. It offers a challenging trek surrounded by the beauty of nature.

Trekking the picturesque Kannan Devan Hills is quite a difficult one which takes about 5 hours to reach the highest point of about 1950 meters above sea level. Once you are at the top you can enjoy the pristine beauty of Anamudi Peak and Idukki. On the way, you will come across some of the endemic species of birds and wildlife.
