Dachigam National Park - Kashmir Visit Indian Subcontinent’s most elevated Bio-Reserve region, Dachigam National Park. Initially set up as a game preserve and catchment area for Harwan Reservoir, Dachigam National Park is now popularly known as home to Hangul Deer, the red colored deer native to Kashmir Valleys and an endangered species.

Though major portion of Dachigam National Park is of dense woods, the international and domestic tourists have many options to explore the region dotted with smoky white waterfalls, multihued flower carpeting and gorgeous meadows with rich vegetation blanketing entire region. The ridges of mountains form the natural boundary line for this part situated at a height of 14000 ft above sea level.

Dachigam National Park is bifurcated into upper and lower regions and latter is more ideal for trekking trails by which you can experience the splendor of Kashmir in its purest form.

How To Reach Dachigam National Park?

By Air : Airport nearest to Dachigam National Park is at Srinagar, at a distance of 22km. Airport at Srinagar is connected to almost all major cities of the country. It is the most easily accessible location from where one can reach the park hiring a taxi.

By Train :Jammu is the nearest railhead at a distance of more than 300km. A private taxi can be hired to reach the destination.

By Road : Srinagar can be easily reached with the well laid roads from any part of the country
