Detailed Itineary

Day 1: Arrival at Tiruchirapalli - Tiruvannamalai

On your arrival at Tiruchirapalli Airport, our representative will receive you and escort you to your pre-booked hotel. After some rest, visit Sri Rangam temple, one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in Trichy. Afterward, head towards Tiruvannamalai, located about 220 km from Tiruchirapalli. The journey takes around 5 hours by road. Upon arrival in Tiruvannamalai, visit the great Shiva Temple of Tamil Nadu, Arunachaleshwarar temple, situated at the foothills of Annamalai. Overnight stay will be at a hotel in Tiruvannamalai.

Day 2: Tiruvannamalai - Tirupati

Tirupati will be the second destination in your Pilgrimage Tour. After your early breakfast, start for Tirupati, which is around 230 km from Tiruvannamalai, and it will take less than six hours to reach there by road. Tirupati is one of the most sacred cities in India and is known for Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. While in Tirupati, don't forget to buy red wooden toys or copper and brass idols. Your stay will be at a hotel in Tirupati.

Day 3: Tirupati - Chennai

Chennai is a city rich in culture and art. The third day of your Pilgrimage tour will be dedicated to Chennai. Start early for Chennai from Tirupati, and you will reach there in about 4 hours, with a distance of around 180 km. In Chennai, visit some of the most popular temples like Kapaleeshwara temple, Astalakshmi temple, Vadapalani Murugan temple, and others. Enjoy the serene sunset at Marina beach. Overnight stay will be at a hotel in Chennai.

Day 4: Chennai - Chidambaram

On the fourth day of your Tamil Nadu Pilgrimage Tour, start for Chidambaram. This city is at a distance of 250 km from Chennai. Most of the temples in Chidambaram are dedicated to Lord Shiva, with a few dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Visit Nataraja Temple, Vaithiswaran Koil, Pichawaram, Keezhaperumpallam Kedhu temple, Thiruvenkadu Budhan temple, and Poombuhar. Your overnight stay will be at a hotel in Chidambaram.

Day 5: Chidambaram - Thanjavur

On day five of our Tamil Nadu Pilgrimage Tour, you will reach our next destination, Thanjavur. It is only 140 km away from Chidambaram and within four hours, you will reach there. This city is also known as the “Rice Bowl of Tamil Nadu”. Visit the world-famous Brihadeshwara Temple, followed by Thingaloor Chandran Temple, Aalangudi Guru Temple, Kanjanoor Sukkiran Temple, and Suryanar Sooriyan Temple. Your overnight stay will be at a hotel in Thanjavur.

Day 6: Thanjavur - Pillayarpatti - Rameshwaram

Your next halt after Thanjavur will be Pillayarpatti. Pay a visit to the Pillayarpatti Vinayagar temple, and then start for Rameshwaram. Rameshwaram is 270 km from Thanjavur and takes about six hours to reach by road. It is one of the 12 Jyothiralinga temples in India, and no South India Pilgrimage tour is complete without a visit to this sacred place.

Day 7: Rameshwaram - Madurai

On the seventh day, start for Madurai after having an early breakfast at the hotel in Rameshwaram. Madurai is located about 170 km from Rameshwaram, and you can reach there by road in about four hours. The Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai is the most important place to visit. Apart from this, you can also visit other temples like Azhagar Kovil, Vandiyur Mariamman Teppakulam, and Thiruparamkuntram. Your overnight stay will be at a hotel in Madurai.

Day 8: Madurai - Palani - Tiruchirapalli

About 122 km away is Palani from Madurai, which is your next destination. By road, it takes less than three hours to reach there. Palani is popular for the Lord Dhandayudhapani Temple, which is one of the six abodes of Lord Murugan. After this, head towards Tiruchirapalli (Trichy). Your overnight stay will be at a hotel in Trichy.

Day 9: Departure from Tiruchirapalli

You can do a bit more sightseeing in Tiruchirapalli until you have time. Our staff will help you with check-out formalities and escort you to the airport, from where you will board your flight back to your hometown.
