Bekal Beach is a popular beach destination which is situated 16 km south of Kasaragod district of Kerala. It is placed on a headland that extends for 35 acres to reach the Arabian Sea and is a haven for most exotic sights. The tranquil environment and the soothing ambience of the Bekal Beach are just right for recreation and relaxation.

This beach destination is well-known for its scenic beauty and unparallel charm and backwaters. Over and above that the long historic Bekal Fort that juts into the sea is the most striking feature of the Bekal Beach. This massive fort is among the biggest forts in Kerala.

The beach offers a vivacious view of the massive Bekal Fort. The estuary on the northern side of the beach imparts the place with a magnificent view. At this beach, one can easily witness the backwaters connecting the Arabian Sea. There is a rock garden which is situated just a Kilometer away from the beach is the best spot to relax.

There is a Children's play area near the beach where the children can play around. One can enjoy all-embracing sights and picturesque views surrounding the beach from the long walkway to the beach which is adorned with a wonderful array of trees planted around.

Way to Reach

 By Air - Mangalore Airport is the nearest domestic airport to Bekal Beach which is at a distance of 50 Km from Kasaragod. Calicut International Airport is the nearest international airport to Bekal Beach which is at a distance of 200 Km from Kasaragod town. From there, you can either hire a taxi or board a bus to reach Bekal Beach.

 By Rail - Kanhangad Railway Station and Kasaragod Railway Station are the nearest railway stations to Bekal Beach which are about 12 Km away from Bekal. From there, you can either hire a taxi or board a bus to reach Bekal Beach. Kottikulam and Pallikere Railway Stations are also closer to Bekal.

 By Road - Bekal does not have any bus route from the major cities of the country. Kasaragod Bus Station is the nearest bus station to Bekal Beach which is 12 Km away.
