Beypore Beach is a scenic beach which is situated 15 Km away from Kadavu, at the mouth of Chaliyar River in Kozhikode district. It houses one of the oldest ports in Kerala from where trading was done between the Middle East and Asia.

Beypore is well-known as the land of boat makers in Kozhikode as it builds wooden ships called dhows or urus in the local language. In olden days, these ships were bought by Arab merchants for trading and fishing. But now it is used as tourist ships.

The Chaliyar River meeting the sea creates a spectacle of beauty near Beypore Beach. Beypore beach is blessed with a pristine atmosphere and abundant natural scenery and a visit to this beach is pretty refreshing. Beypore beach poses many ayurvedic treatment centres and various adventurous watersports activities that attract a lot of tourists to this place.

The rocky pier, known as Pulimuttu is the major attraction of Beypore Beach. These were simple structures of piled up rocks. But now, it is converted into a fascinating walkway that extends to about one Km into the sea. And a walk over this walkway is just thrilling.

Way to Reach

 By Air - Calicut International Airport is the nearest airport to Beypore Beach which is at a distance of 23 Km. From there, you can either hire a taxi or board a bus to reach Beypore Beach.

 By Rail - Beypore does not have a railway station of its own. Kozhikode Railway Station is the nearest railway station to Beypore Beach which is at a distance of 9 Km. From there, you can either hire a taxi or board a bus to reach Beypore Beach.

 By Road - Between Beypore and all the major neighbouring cities in Kerala, state transport buses are available on regular basis. Beypore is just 11 Km from Calicut via road. You can also hire a taxi to reach Beypore Beach.
