Neendakara Beach is situated near Neendakara village at a distance of 9 Km north of Kollam city in Kerala. Neendakara is actually a popular fishing port which has the capacity to contain over 500 fishing boats at a time. Hence it is regarded as one of the biggest seaports in the region.

The Neendakara Port offers an amazing view of the surrounding regions and the visitors can even watch the delightful sight of Ashtamudi Lake, converging into the vast Arabian Sea from the Neendakara Bridge. This fishing port is also the headquarters of Indo-Norwegian Fisheries Community Project that commenced in the year 1953.

In the early 16th century, Portuguese traders have settled in Kollam (then Quilon), and the site of Neanda Kara Bridge now, was earlier the Neendakara bar which connects the village to Sakthikulangara across Ashtamudi Lake through which their ships passed. This beach destination is also popular for its fish market where you can buy freshly caught fishes.
