Vizhinjam Beach is a popular beach situated in Trivandrum district of Kerala. It is situated just 3 Km away from Kovalam Beach. The beautiful Vizhinjam Beach adds more to the natural beauty and charm of the quaint hamlet of Vizhinjam. Vizhinjam Beach is least crowded where you can spend some time in relaxation and it is often thronged by fishermen.

The rock-cut cave temple which dates back to the 18th century is the prominent attraction of the Vizhinjam Beach. This temple houses the carvings of Lord Shiva and Lord Parvathy which still remains incomplete. There is an exotic aquarium near this beach called the Vizhinjam Marine Aquarium that houses several species of fish and other marine lives.

There is a colourful mosque which is painted orange and white known as the Vizhinjam mosque that stands as a witness to all the fishing activities carried out in the harbour. Vizhinjam is actually a fishing village where you can see the fishermen engaging in various fishing methods, repairing their nets, etc.

 By Rail - Vizhinjam does not have a railway station of its own. Trivandrum Railway Station is the nearest railway station to Vizhinjam Beach which is at a distance of 16 Km. From there, you can either hire a taxi or autorickshaw or board a bus to reach Vizhinjam Beach.

 By Road - Vizhinjam Bus Station is the nearest bus station to Vizhinjam Beach which is at a distance of 2 Km. From Kovalam, Vizhinjam Beach is just 3 Km away. If you are at Kovalam, you can hire a taxi or auto rickshaws or board a bus to reach Vizhinjam Beach.
