Munnar is the most admired hill station in Kerala and an iconic honeymoon destination with awe-inspiring scenic views, pristine natural beauty and the most soothing climatic conditions. It lies in the Western Ghats mountain range at an average elevation of 1,700 meters above the sea level. In the past, this hill town gained its popularity as the summer retreat of British who introduced the region with tea plantation.
Today, this region is hailed as the largest tea growing region in South India. It is also popular for being the commercial centre of some of the world’s highest tea-growing estates which are mostly operated by corporate giant Tata. This quaint town of tea plantation is situated at the confluence of three rivers, Muthirapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala rivers, hence got the name as Munnar meaning "three rivers"(Moonu = three and Aaru = rivers). From rolling mist-clad mountains, visually soothing green tea plantations, spectacular waterfalls, winding lanes, lush meadows, dense forest, thrilling trekking spots, and terrace hillocks, Munnar has it all to cater anyone looking for an escape from the tiresome city life.

- One can enjoy the pristine beauty of Munnar throughout the year. The tourism season in Munnar begins in October and ends in May. Summer season is the most favorable season to visit Munnar as the weather is so pleasant and the chances of smog are less, making it the best time to enjoy the viewpoints. The temperature varies between 19 degree Celsius to 35 degree Celsius during the summer months of March to May in Munnar.
- During the winter months from December to February, Munnar experiences very cold weather with a drop in temperature up to 10 degree Celsius. June to September marks the monsoon season in Munnar. Though the rain-washed glory of the region can be witnessed during this season, the heavy monsoon showers can spoil the fun of sightseeing.
