Krishnapuram Palace is one of the most impressive palaces in Kerala which is preserved as a museum and was built during the reign of Anizham Thirunal Marthanda Varma who was the King of Travancore.

located in Kayamkulam, in Alleppey district of Kerala, this royal palace is renowned for housing a 53 square feet massive mural painting which is titled as 'Gajendra Moksham', or the 'redemption of the elephant' depicting an elephant paying salutations to Lord Vishnu. The Krishnapuram Palace is a unique exemplar of Kerala architectural style known as Pathinarukettu having a gabled roof, narrow corridors and dormer windows. The Palace museum contains belongings of the royal family that are put on display. The unique double-edged sword called Kayamkulam Vaal - is an interesting exhibit of this museum. The museum also contains valuable exhibits like Bible in Sanskrit, megalithic remains, stone, bronze and wood sculptures, old coins of the royal era, stone inscription, miniature figures, antiques, rare paintings, oil lamps, etc.
