Huddled between the mountain ranges, the Kundala Lake is an artificial reservoir of a slightly arch-shaped dam which is renowned for the Neelakurinji flowers that bloom once in twelve months. Tourists from all over the world visit this place when the Neelakurinji flowers blossoms.

The "Sethuparvathipuram Dam" which is said to be the First Arch Dam in Asia is constructed near the Kundala Lake, mainly for Pallivasal Hydro Electric Project in the year 1946.

The Sethuparvathipuram Dam site is rich in lovely surroundings with amazing tea gardens, pleasing green valleys, breathtaking waterfalls, and high mountains.

The cherry gardens with the cherry flowers that blossom twice in a year enhance the beauty of the lake. Various types of boating facilities like Kashmiri Shikkara boating, pedal boating, row boating, speed boating, etc are available here to explore the beauty of the Kundala Lake.

This picturesque land is a beautiful location for photography and the real natural beauty make it a stunning place to explore.

The beauty of Kundala Lake is at its peak in the early morning. So, early morning is the best time to visit Kundala Lake to enjoy the misty and foggy surroundings of the lake and the sun rays falling on the lake seems like it is dancing on the water.

The Aurivikkad waterfall is also situated near Kundala Lake which is also a tourist destination.

Horse riding, balloon shooting games, and many other activities are also offered here to entertain the tourists. There is a golf course ground which belongs to Tata Tea Ltd that entice the visitors.

Lockhart Gap View Point : This viewpoint is known as Lockhart because of the gap between two mountains that looks like a locked heart. It is at a distance of 39.4 Km.
