Kozhikode Beach: Kozhikode Beach offers a mesmerizing location to relax and unwind. It hosts one of the biggest festivals known as Malabar Mahotsavam that showcases the rich Indian culture and the traditions of Calicut.

Mananchira Square: Mananchira Square is a must visit place in Calicut which features a clear water pool at the centre and is surrounded by temples, churches, mosques, and ancient homes. Mananchira Square also houses an open-air theatre and a musical fountain.

Beypore: Beypore is one of the prominent ship-building ports and is also lauded as the busiest fishing harbours of Kerala. This port is also famous for making a distinctive ship vessel known as 'Uru'.

Pazhassi Raja Museum and Art Gallery: This popular museum in Calicut is named after the great ruler Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja who is known as the Kerala Simham (Lion of Kerala). This museum displays a variety of monuments, old coins, mural paintings, and some excellent paintings of the renowned painter Raja Ravi Varma.

Thikkoti Lighthouse: Thikkoti Lighthouse which is positioned on a rocky shoreline is a famous attraction in Calicut and is believed to have been constructed on the remains of a shipwreck. It is an ideal place to enjoy the scenic views of the sea and also spotting several species of nomadic birds.

Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary: It is a place worth visiting for those who love birdwatching. Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary offers the dwelling place for over 100 local bird species and around 60 migratory bird species.

Thali Temple: Thali Temple is one of the oldest temples in Calicut which is famous for hosting the yearly contest of academic skills known as Revathi Pattathanam.

Calicut Planetarium: Calicut Planetarium conducts nearly 1200 shows every year that are related to the mysteries of the universe.

Mishkal Mosque: Mishkal Mosque is a famous mosque in Calicut which was built in 13th century by an Arab businessman named Mishkal.

Thusharagiri Fall: It is a trekker's paradise with the spectacular and pristine beauty of evergreen forests and soothing streams surrounding the waterfalls and offering the challenging trekking and rock climbing opportunities.

Sweet Street (Mithai Theruvu): It is a must-visit place in Calicut for shopping enthusiasts.

Kappad Beach: It is a legendary beach which has a great significance in the history of Kerala. Through this historic beach, the Portuguese explorer Vasco- Da-Gama first stepped onto Kerala, some 500 years ago in the year 1498.

Matri Dei Cathedral: It is a famous church in Calicut, also known as Mother of God Cathedral. It was built in 1513 AD in Roman architectural style and it treasures an ancient portrait of Mother Mary which is said to be more than 200 years old.

Best Time To Visit:

Calicut is an all year round tourist destination. But September to May is regarded as the best time to visit Calicut.

Calicut experiences a warm and humid summer season with the temperature rising up to 37 degree Celsius and falling as low as 28 degree Celsius. Summer season in Calicut begins from April and continues till July. As the heat is mild, it is the perfect time for sightseeing as well as activities like bird watching. Monsoon season in Calicut results in abundant and refreshing showers and the temperature during this season ranges between 22 degree Celsius to 32 degree Celsius. Calicut enjoys a very pleasant winter season between the months of October to March with temperature ranging between 19 degree Celsius to 29 degree Celsius.
