Best Time To Visit Amarnath :
The stalagmites wax and wane depending on the climatic changes. In general, Amarnath Yatra begins in June and ends in August every year. During other times, the temple is kept closed due to the unusual climatic conditions, not suitable to travel.

- No one below 13 years and above 75 years of age is allowed to take Amarnath Yatra
- To participate in this Yatra, applications are to be filled online and is available in all banks.

How to Reach Amarnath Temple? :
Public or private vehicles can be the options to travel from Jammu to Pahalgam and Baltal. Also , the trekking routes either via Baltal or Srinagar can be chosen to reach Amarnath Cave. If not, there is another option of taking a helicopter trip to reach Amarnath.
By Helicopter: The helicopter starts from Baltal. Travel from Srinagar to Baltal and reach Panchtarni by helicopter. From there, Amarnath temple is only at 6 kms which you can reach by walk or with a horse ride.
Route via Baltal : This journey starts from Chandanwari and travel via Baltal, Domial, Barari and Sangam. The distance of 14 kms can be crossed in 1 or 2 days, depending on how you get yourself acclimatized with the climatic conditions entirely different from that of the plains.
Route via Pahalgam : Comparatively wider route and almost all the pilgrims choose this one despite the time taken to travel the distance is 3 to 5 days.
