Diskit : Diskit is normally the place where tourists stay after crossing the Khardhungla pass and is the commercial capital of Nubra. But spending a day in Diskit will introduce you a different perspective of Ladakh region. Diskit is prominently known for the Buddhist Monastery which is the largest in Ladakh region. The 106 feet tall Buddha statue welcomes you in the monastery and you can spend time in exploring beautiful murals, textures inside the sacred centre.

Hundar – The Oasis Village : The massive sand dunes of Hundar, the village is known for camel safari. Hundar lies in a place where Shyok and Nubra rivers meet with mountains all around. Opting for a safari in double humped camels will be an entirely different experience. A camel safari on sand dunes at a height of 10000 meters above the sea level is something amazing, which every traveler planning a visit to Kashmir must include in his/her bucket list.

Sumur : If you are an adventure lover and would love to explore the serene nature, then spending some time in the off - beat village Sumur will be an ideal choice.Sumur is home to many trekking trails and ancient monasteries, a surreal atmosphere with right blend of beauty and spirituality. Sumur is indeed a village lost in time with only few families still preserving the historic traditions and culture living in this barren dessert and extremely cold climates. Out of all monasteries here, Samstanling Gompa is the most prominent one highly revered. Trekking in these unexplored trails unfurls bundles of opportunities to explore the nature more deeply.

Panamik : The only place in Trans-Himalayan region where you can have easy access to Hot Sulphur springs is the Panamik village, the northernmost end of India up to which foreign travelers are allowed. An exuberant village with hot water springs and trekking trails as its prominent attractions witness tourists and natives alike in large numbers who love to take a dip in the Sulphur strings, which is believed to cure ailments like arthritis. Care to be taken that there are only limited guest houses and home stays with very basic facilities and there is no ATM facility. Turtuk : An extremely unique village in Nubra region is Turtuk known for the peculiar details as you see here. Turtuk is near the Line of Control, that is near the demarcating line of India and Pakistan. Unlike the other villages in this region, entire Turtuk is seen with a different landscape of fertile and green lands.

Turtuk village happens to be the mass producer of apricot in Ladakh region. When you enter the village, row of apricot fields welcome you, an enticing sight to behold. People of Turtuk village speak Balti language, which is widely spoken in Baltistan region of Pakistan. Though Buddhism is predominantly followed here, the culture and traditions followed in Turtuk village is a blend of faiths in Hinduism and Islam.
