Detailed Itineary
Day 1: Arrival Chennai
On arrival at Chennai airport / railway station, after meet & greet formalities, get transferred to hotel and check in. Later visit Kapaleeswar temple, Parthasarathy temple which is located close to Marina Beach in Chennai. The main deity is Krishna who worshiped as Parthasarathy. In Hindu Puranas, the seven sages known as the Saptharishis worshipped the five deities Panchaveeras namely, Venkata Krishnaswamy, Rukmini, Satyaki, Balarama, Pradyumna, and Aniruddha and finally visit Astalakshmi temple. Evening free for your own activities. Overnight Hotel in Chennai.
Day 2: Chennai - Thiruvidanthai - Mahabalipuram - Kanchipuram (140 Kms / 1.5 hrs)
After breakfast check out and proceed to visit Thiruneermalai Neervanna perumal temple that is located near Pallavaram. The main deity is Sri Ranganathar who graces in four postures - Nindra(standing), Iruntha(sitting), Kidantha(lying) and Nadantha(striding). Next visit will be Nitya Kalyana perumal temple, located in Thiruvidanthai near Mahabalipuram. The main deity is Nithyakalyana Perumal (Varaha). The temple is believed to have been constructed by the Pallavas. Next temple is Sthala Sayana perumal which is located in Mahabalipuram. The main deity is Sthala Syana perumal. This temple too was constructed by the Pallavas. Sthalasayana Perumal is believed to have appeared before the sage Pundarika). Later check in at the hotel. Evening drive to Kanchipuram and check in at the hotel. En route visit Varadarajar temple that is located at the entrance of Kanchi Town. The main deity is Varadaraja perumal. The Original Idol of Lord Varadaraja perumal was made out of Attimaram or Fig Tree and it was kept inside the temple’s Pushkarani. The original idol is worshipped for 10 days once in every 40 years. The temple was constructed during different times and various dynasties like the Cheras, Cholas, Pandiyas, Pallavas, Vijayanagara and Hoysala kings). Overnight Hotel in Kanchipuram.
Day 3: Kanchipuram
After breakfast visit Divya Desams in Kanchipuram for a full day, since they are located close to each other. All temples are dedicated to Lord Vishnu, who is worshiped by different names as follows:
Sri Yanthothakaari temple, Adikesava perumal, Azhagiya Singer temple, and Sri Deepa Prakasar perumal temple. Evening visit Sri Aadhi Varaha perumal (inside Kamakshi Amman temple). The other four Divya Desams are located in one temple complex as follows: Sri Ulagalantha perumal, Jagadeeswara perumal, Sri Karunakkara perumal, and Sri Thirukkaar Vaanar perumal. Evening visit Vaikunthaperumal temple that is located close to Kamakshi temple. This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and he is worshiped as Vaikunntha perumal here. The temple was constructed by the Pallavas and later by the Cholas. At present, this temple comes under the control of ASI department of India. Your next visit will be Sri Pavala Vannar temple. This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and he is worshiped as Pavala Vannar perumal. Lord Pavala Vannar is believed to have appeared before the sage Naimisaranya. Later proceed to Vijayaraghava perumal temple. The main deity here is Lord Vijayaraghavaswamy, and this temple is located on the outskirts of Kanchipuram. It was constructed by the Pandyas and later by the Cholas. Overnight Hotel in Kanchipuram.
Day 4: Kanchipuram - Trivallur - Chennai (170 Kms / 3.5 hrs)
Early morning visit Nilathingal Thundathan perumal temple. The main deity is Nila Thingal Thundathan perumal and the Sannidhi is located inside Lord Ekabareswarar temple. This temple is dedicated to both Vishnu & Shiva and it is also one of the Panchabootha Sthalangal. Then proceed to Pandava Thoodhar temple, one of the oldest temples in Kanchipuram. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and also closely related to the Mahabharata. The temple was constructed by the Pallavas and later by the Cholas. Later return to the hotel for breakfast followed by check-out. Then drive to Sholingur Yoga Narasimhar temple, a hilltop temple dedicated to Lord Narasimha. The main deity is Yoga Narasimha. You will have to climb approximately 2000 steps. History says that the great sage Vishwamitra visited this temple to worship Lord Narasimha. This temple is also known as Thirukadigai. After lunch, drive to Chennai, en route visit Veeraraghava perumal temple in Tiruvallur near Chennai. This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and the main deity is Sri Vaithya Veera Raghava perumal. Lord Veeraraghava Perumal is believed to have appeared before his consort Lakshmi in this place. The temple was constructed during different times by the Cholas and the Pallavas. Later visit Sri Bhaktavatsala perumal temple in Thirunindravur, on the outskirts of Chennai. The temple was constructed by the Pallavas in the 8th century, with later additions by the Cholas and Vijayanagara kings. Upon arrival in Chennai, transfer to hotel and check in. Overnight Hotel in Chennai.
Day 5: Departure Chennai
After breakfast check out and transfer to airport / railway station to board onward journey.
