Kodai Lake is one of the important tourist destinations in Kodaikanal. This lake is a man made one and is developed by British people. The overview of the lake highlights the star shape surrounded by lush greens. The lake is situated at an elevation of 2285m above sea level and has an average depth of 3.0m. Within a three km from the Kodaikanal bus stand, this attractive lake is located.

Now Kodai Lake has become a prominent tourist spot at Kodaikanal. In order to attract tourists lots of activities like cycling, boating, horse riding and lovely parks has been set up around the lake. Tourists can also go fishing, but only after obtaining permission from Inspector of Fisheries. There are even luxury boats similar to the Kashmiri Shikara are available.

Yet another remarkable feature of this place is the Kurunji flowers, which blooms once in 12 years. Hill fruits like plums, cherry are found very fresh and tasty.
