Papi kondalu is a breathtaking hill rage encircled by river Godavari and blessed with mind-blowing beauty. These hills are a group of three mounts which forms a lovely gorge on the banks of Godavari. Papi kondalu is recently declared as a protected National park.

The name Papi Kondalu in Telugu means Partition. As these hill range stand as a partition between the village and river Godavari, it is named as “Papi Kondalu”.

The legend has it that this is the hill which Lord Rama and Sita visited during their time of exile.

Papi Kondalu is nearer to the place like Pattisam (35 km from Rajahmundry), Kunavaram (50 km from Bhadrachalam), Polavaram (40 km from Rajahmundry), Sriram Giri (60 km from Bhadrachalam).

Gandipochamma Temple, located her is quite famous and the water fall at Munnivaatam is worth visiting.

The boat rides start from early morning and ends by evening. Both the private and Government runs ferries to and from Rajahmundry/ Pattisam / Polavaram / Kunavaram / Sriram Giri with break at Perantallapalli.

There are many resorts at Kollur for the tourists to stay overnight. Before going trip to Papikondalu, make sure that you pre book the boat and hut through any tourist agencies or AP Tourism.

Best Time To Visit:

Peak season at Papi Kondalu is from November to December, while the best time to visit this place is between the months of October to January.

Way to Reach:

 By Air -  The nearest airport is at Rajahmundry which has domestic flight to cities including Chennai, Madurai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad.

 By Rail -  Rajahmundry railway station has train facilities to all major parts of India.

By Road: The city has four main bus stands Kotipalli Bus Stand in Innispet, Gokavaram Bus Stand in Aryapuram, and the Kakinada Bus Stand near Kambalcheruvu and other one at Morampudi Road.

Papikondalu is at a distance of 20 km from Polavaram, 60 km from Rajahmundry, 260 km from Vizag, 180 km from Vijayawada, & 410 km from Hyderabad.
