This entire day is for exploring the treasures of the hill station Munnar. Start with Eravikulam National Park where you can spot residents of the woods including some endangered species like Nilgiri Tahr. Later proceed to Mattupetty Dam and on to Echo Point. Also visit Tea Museum(Closed on Mondays), to know everything about the origin and evolution of tea as a drink in India, in the form of photographs and old machineries. The overall process of tea making can be seen here and you can taste variety of tea with nice aroma and great taste. Pack few types for your family and friends as well. After breakfast, start your drive to Thekkady, also called as Periyar Tiger Reserve. Reach Thekkady, check into the hotel and relax for a while. Disembark from your private houseboat and start your drive to Kovalam, the most scenic beach in Kerala. En-route, visit Trivandrum, state’s capital city. Marvel the grand architecture of Padmanabha Swamy temple, explore Napier Museum and enjoy at Sree Chitra Art Gallery. Later, resume your drive to Kovalam, check into the hotel.
