Detailed Itineary
Day 1: Jodhpur Arrival
After you arrive at Jodhpur Airport or Railway Station, one of our representatives will receive and assist you for your quick check-in at the hotel. Rooms will be given depending on the hotel’s normal check-in policy. Rest for a while and after your lunch, you will have a half-day Jodhpur city tour. Begin your city tour of Jodhpur with Mehrangarh Fort, one of the largest forts in India, located on a low sandstone hill. Also explore Jaswant Thada, Sardar Bazaar, and Clock Tower markets, where you can visit the vibrant stalls for Rajasthani textiles, spices, silver jewellery, and local handicrafts. These vibrant markets with tiny shops beautify the narrow lanes replete with woodcarvings, leatherwork, and traditional Rajasthani souvenirs. Overnight stay in Jodhpur.
Day 2: Jodhpur - Jaisalmer
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and begin your drive to Jaisalmer – the Golden City of India. The minimum duration is six hours to cross the approximate distance of 285 km between Jodhpur and Jaisalmer. Different from other places in Rajasthan, Jaisalmer is an exotic desert town with a prime location on the ancient camel trade routes. The havelis in Jaisalmer, constructed by wealthy merchants of the 19th century, are exquisitely carved from golden-yellow sandstone and are still in beautiful condition. The majestic Jaisalmer Fort, built by Rawal Jaisal in the 12th century, stands on the 80-meter-high Trikuta hill and owns intricately carved Jain temples. Overnight stay in Jaisalmer.
Day 3: Jaisalmer Sightseeing
After your breakfast at the staying hotel get ready for a full day city tour of Jaisalmer, one of the top heritage destinations in India. Begin your sightseeing by visiting Gadsisar Lake, an ancient water conservation tank made around 1400 A.D. Visit the popular Jaisalmer havelis, renowned for their exquisite frescoes paintings and sandstone architecture. The most elegant and magnificent of all is Patwaon Ki Haveli. Head to the iconic Jaisal Fort (Sonar Quila), a UNESCO World Heritage Site housing ancient Jain temples.
In the evening, head to the alluring Sam Sand Dunes, situated 42 kilometers away from Jaisalmer. It’s the most popular spot to experience the Thar Desert safari. Here, you can observe the shifting sand patterns, embark on a camel safari in Jaisalmer (on direct payment), and witness the breathtaking sunset in the desert — an experience that enhances the charm of a Rajasthan desert tour.
Day 4: Jaisalmer - Jodhpur Departure
