  • Muhammed Quli Qutb Shah, the 5th Sultan of Qutub Shahi Dynasty is the creator of Charminar and it was built in the year 1591 as to commemorate the end of the plague that had broken out in Hyderabad.
  • This amazing monument is built using marble, granite, mortar and limestone.
  • Charminar is an exact square monument with each side measuring a width of 20 meters. There are pointed arches having a width of 11 meters and a height of 20 meters on each side which are connected with minarets that are 4 storey buildings having a height of 49 meters.
  • The four minarets of Charminar symbolizes the first four khalifas of Islam.
