This impeccable piece of art was erected by Quli Qutb Shah, during his change of capital from Golconda to Hyderabad. Locate in the city of Hyderabad, Charminar is one of the prominent landmark of the city and a famous tourist spot. The monument got, because of the four minarets (char- four, minar). This monument is built in Indo Islamic style. The monument looks fabulous during the night when it is illuminated.

Highlights:

This monument has become synonymous to the name of the city, since its construction.  This peerless monument is situated on the east bank. It is a testimony to show the world the impeccable craftsmanship of our ancestors.  

To the north of the Charminar, are the four grand gateways known as Char Kaman that are constructed in the cardinal directions. This structure was built to serve as the Mosque.

Charminar is a jewel in the city of Pearl or City of Nawabs- Hyderabad. Being the global icon of the city, it stands as a testimony of our historical past 400 years.

Style:

As you explore this ancient construction, you can see many amazing thins and structures. Thought the architectural style is Indo- Islamic, in some places Persian style can be identified. From the top of upper floor, the view of the Makkah Masjid is mind-blowing. If you want to relish the beauty of this ancient architecture, avoid weekends, as it will be heavy crowded during weekends.
